Accessibility & Inclusion

 

We’re committed to making FutureStack Athens 2026 accessible, inclusive, and welcoming for everyone. Our goal is to ensure that every attendee—whether on-site or remote—can participate fully and comfortably. The conference will take place at the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre (MAICC), a fully accessible venue in the heart of Athens.

Getting to the Venue

  • Metro (Line 3 – “Megaron”): Step-free access from platform to street level. Follow venue signage to Registration.

  • Taxi / Drop-off: Curbside drop-off and pickup available near the main entrance.
  • Parking: On-site parking with limited accessible spaces (first-come, first-served).
  • Entrances: Wide automatic doors and ramps for wheelchair users.
  • Assistance: Ask staff at the Help Desk or email access@futurestack.io for any mobility or seating assistance.

Transport & Arrival

 

  • Metro: Line 3 (Blue) — Megaron station. Elevators and step-free paths available.

  • Bus: Several accessible bus lines stop directly outside MAICC.
  • Taxi: All Athenian taxis are required to allow service animals and assistive devices.
  • Airport: ~40 minutes from Athens International Airport (ATH) by metro or taxi.

Hearing & Vision Accessibility

 

  • Live Captioning: Provided during all keynote sessions via large-screen caption displays.

  • Sign Language Interpretation: Available by advance request (deadline: April 24, 2026).
  • Assistive Listening Devices: Pick up at the Registration Desk (limited quantity).
  • Visual Aids: High-contrast slides and large fonts encouraged for all presenters.

Neurodiversity & Sensory Support

 

  • Quiet Room: Low-stimulation space available during event hours.

  • Lighting: No strobe or flashing lights used in any session or social event.
  • Noise Management: Disposable earplugs available at the Help Desk.
  • Clear Signage: High-contrast wayfinding and large-print maps provided.

Health, Wellbeing & Dietary

 

  • Dietary Options: Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free meals available at all breaks.

  • Allergens: All food stations labeled clearly; ask catering staff for ingredients if unsure.
  • Nursing Room: Private lactation room with seating, power outlets, and refrigeration.
  • Prayer Room: Quiet, neutral multi-faith space open both days.
  • Water Stations: Refill stations throughout the venue — please bring your own bottle.

Service Animals & Companions

 

  • Service Animals: Welcome throughout the venue. Relief area available near the main entrance.

  • Companion Passes: Complimentary companion passes available upon approval — contact the Accessibility Team.

On-Site Support & Emergency

 

  • Help Desk: Located in the Main Foyer for accessibility inquiries.

  • Medical: Certified first-aid staff available throughout the event.
  • Emergency Routes: Clearly marked; staff trained to assist in evacuations.
  • Lost & Found: Handled through the registration counter.
